Where is NYST? What are their hours?

You can rent all the gear you need at NYST as well. Come early when the gates open at 6:30AM to get yourself setup and have time to try on the right sizing fit. Please return the gear before leaving the track as you will be charged full price if it is not returned. Prices are rental costs per day.
Suit/Boots/Gloves Package: $140, Suit: $90, Boots: $30, Gloves: $30
You can also purchase gear from RevZilla, Cycle Gear or another motorcycle outlet.
Be sure to purchase either a full suit or a two piece suit, boots that come up above your ankle (half way to the knee), and gauntlet gloves that are above your wrist. If you don't you will have to rent the correct gear from NYST or you will not be allowed onto the track.
It is recommended to wear a sweat wicking body suit and/or socks. This helps to make it easier to take off and put on your suit when it's hot out. You can also purchase separates from Under Armour or another company. Moto-D Racing has the perfect under suit and socks for purchase (in advance on their website).
What if I don't have a bike or don't want to use my street bike?
NYST provides a Kawasaki Ninja 400 rental for you to use for $450 per day. Gas is included with the rental. Come early when the gates open at 6:30AM to get yourself setup and have time to get the rental.
Will I use a full tank of gas at the track? How can I fill up my tank?
Please fill up your tank before getting to the track. Also, please bring a red gas can so if you need to head to the nearest gas station, you can refill the red gas can there. If you don't have the right nozzle on the gas can, please bring a funnel with you for easier use.
The nearest gas station to the track is Quickway, 15863 NY-23, Davenport, NY 13750.

I'm a new rider. I've never been to the track before. I need help getting better at riding.
Everyone is welcome no matter what their skill level is, but you should have some experience riding a motorcycle (permit/license are helpful).
Coaches will be riding with your group in every session. They will show you where to ride and give you tips for becoming better. One-on-One coaching is available to help you get the personalized knowledge you need since everyone's skill level is different. This is an additional cost of $100 for the day. A coach will be matched with you depending on the rider. You can book this on the link above.
Provided by Lone Riders Academy (approved vendor). Tips are appreciated and can be given directly to your coach at the end of your last session.
What is a session? What's the schedule? What does my day look like?
NYST gates open at 6:30AM and close at 10PM (promptly).
All riders are required to attend mandatory meeting at 7AM before the track day begins.
The track goes hot (or the first session starts) at 8AM.
This is an example of how sessions are setup:
8:00AM - 8:20AM - Expert
8:20AM - 8:40AM - Intermediate
8:40AM - 9:00AM - Novice (beginners)
This will repeat for every hour throughout the day with the last Novice session ending at 5PM. Lunch will be from 12PM to 1PM (no sessions will be held during this time).
You will have 8 sessions for the day.
I don't want to camp the night before. Is there a hotel nearby?
Quality Inn Oneonta
Holiday Inn Express Oneonta
Courtyard Oneonta Cooperstown
All hotels mentioned above are a 20 min drive to NYST.
Will I need new tires half way through the day?
The track causes a lot of wear on your tires. If you have new street tires on your bike, it is likely that you will not need new tires half way through the day. But after each session, you should assess whether you have life left on them as well as your brake pads.
If you have track tires (slicks), it is likely that you may need to replace them during the day. It is recommended to purchase slicks from Moto-D Racing.
NYST has a tire guy on site with tires available for purchase that can assist you with any of these needs or concerns.
How do I get my bike to NYST? Do I have to rent a trailer?
Our approved transportation vendor, Certified Knee Draggers, can bring your bike to the track for you.
Drop off your bike to Certified Knee Draggers along with your gear, bike stands and tire warmers and it will be at NYST ready for your track day. Round-trip $150
Have your bike, gear, stands and tire warmers picked up anywhere in the 5 boroughs or Long Island and it will be at NYST ready for your track day. Round-trip $225
Contact certifiedkneedraggers@gmail.com to book directly.
You can rent a trailer from U-Haul or another vendor, but make sure you have the right straps to secure your bike to the trailer and that your truck/car has the hitch to attach the trailer.
DO NOT FORGET TO BRING YOUR MOTORCYCLE KEY and HELMET!!
What food and beverages do I need to bring? Can I purchase there?
Lunch will be served hot trackside with many authentic options available for purchase. Provided by Team Reckless Racing (approved vendor).
It is recommended to bring water and an energy drink (Powerade, Gatorade, etc.) inside of a cooler (fill it with ice). Bring some snacks for the day - fruits are so helpful to snack on between sessions.
How can I get pictures of myself on the track?
Included with your admission is photographs of you on the track throughout the day. A NYST approved photographer will be capturing the moments - be sure to pose if you can (safely)! Pictures will be emailed to you after the track day ends.
What's helpful to bring with me?
Bring a canopy. The sun will be hot during the day and your bike will be hot too.
Bring tie-downs/weights for the canopy. It gets windy there sometimes and will blow away.
Bring a camping chair. You'll be tired after each session and need to sit down.
Bring a table. You need a place to put your tools, snacks, helmet, gloves, etc.
Bring sunglasses. Once again - the sun is hot in the summer.
Bring a sweater. The mornings are cold at NYST but you'll see how fast it warms up!
Bring a face towel. This is for your sweat.
Bring microfiber cloths. For you to wipe your visor from bugs.
Bring some basic tools. You never know what will happen so it helps to be prepared.
Bring blue painters tape (or any color you like). You will need to cover all pieces of the bike that may shatter (mirrors, headlights, taillights, blinkers, etc.).
Bring cash. There is no ATM on site.
Bring red gas can. If you run out of gas, you can always refill at the nearest station.
Please remove your license plate before riding.
Recommended but not necessary
Slides - easier to slip on than flip flops between sessions.
Chain Lube and Brush
Zip Ties
Tire Pressure Gauge
Motorcycle Stands (Moto-D has great ones available for purchase)
Generator if you really need it. There are no outlets there - charge your phone in your car.
Speaker - so you can play some music during lunch or when you aren't riding
Trash bag
Electric Scooter - if you'd like to get around the track faster than walking
What if it rains?
If the weather forecast predicts rain for the entire day, the track day will be rescheduled.
If it rains for a short period of time and it is still safe to ride the track, your session will still be on and you can assess whether you are comfortable or not to ride that specific time slot.
How long is the track?
NYST is 2.2 miles in length, 40 feet wide, and has an astounding 450 feet of elevation change with the most beautiful views of upstate NY. It is an asphalt track.
Can I come and observe as I've never done a track day before?
Don't be nervous to participate but you are more than welcome to come enjoy the day with your friends and supporters of Wicked Wednesdays. You will only have to pay the gate fee of $40 upon entering.
Can I smoke or drink alcohol there?
Absolutely NO smoking at all on premises - you will be escorted out of the track. There is a no tolerance for drugs and alcohol policy.
